Bees and old pictures

Growing up in Palmers Green in the second half of the 40s and through the 50s Broomfield House and Park were an integral part of my childhood. From feeding the ducks, playing on the swings, slide and roundabout, and going in to the green houses in the park and participating in school sports in the arena to visiting, to exploring the contents of the museum. I remember especially the wooden framed bees nest that was inside the house adjacent to a window that had a hole in it and through which the bees left for the outside world and the old pictures of Palmers Green, especially of Hedge Lane where I lived, that were in wooden frames on a hinged swivel fixed to the wall. Those were the days of innocence.
